OMG So good! The bread was good, the meats were deliciously seasoned and they provide all the fixings. The huge difference between these ahogadas and the rest is the "salsa" (used to drown the torta). Jose's is almost like a gazpacho. A delicious, delicate and light blend of tomato and onion served uncooked. It was a big surprise to all in our group, so much we even drank the salsa that was left over. GO! P.D. There are two stands within a 3 minute walk. One is only to go, the other by the church is sit down and sells beer too.

The torta ahogada is a shredded pork loin filled Mexican torata bread. Add tomato sauce and hot sauce with lime and salt and you have perfection.

If you come to Guadalajara and don't eat tortas here , it's like if you never visited Guadalajara. From the bread ,meat to the sauce you pour on the torta ,it's a taste you will never forget and will always make this a stop when you visit Guadalajara. You won't be disappointed.

Might not be the greatest thing you'll ever eat but gotta taste tradition. Some might do it better but this is where it started

I've tried a few torta ahogada spots, this one is my favorite so far because of their sauce it's thick and rich almost like marinera sauce. Their hot sauce is not very spicy which could be good or bad depending on your preference.
